喬丹在哪都能飛！跑出30盜壘

前NBA巨星「飛人」喬丹（Michael Jordan）20年前曾轉行挑戰棒球，雖然未能上到大聯盟，但仍為他的傳奇人生多添了一頁。

1993年10月，30歲的喬丹突然宣布從公牛隊退休，震驚了全世界的籃球迷。喬丹退休的理由是「失去了比賽的慾望」，但後來他坦承，當年7月父親慘遭槍殺，才是他急流勇退的主因。

喬丹的父親一直期待他成為大聯盟球員，為了完成父親的遺願，喬丹決定挑戰棒球；而當時芝加哥白襪隊和公牛隊同一個老闆，想打棒球的喬丹順理成章選擇白襪隊，94年2月以外野手身分簽下小聯盟合約。

喬丹生涯唯一的職棒球季直接從2A出發，雖然他是不世出的籃球奇才，高中也打過棒球，但終究無法在職棒場上一飛沖天；出賽127場，打擊率只有0.202，擊出3支全壘打、51分打點，守備上發生11次失誤，守備率0.952在外野手之中偏低，唯一的亮點是跑出30次盜壘。

94年球季後，喬丹還參加為潛力新秀舉辦的亞歷桑納秋季聯盟，但最後仍決定在95年重返NBA，結束短暫的棒球之旅。雖然喬丹在小聯盟表現平平，但當時的白襪隊2A總教練、後來帶領紅襪隊奪得世界大賽冠軍的法蘭柯納曾經表示，如果喬丹增加800-1000個打數的歷練，有可能升上大聯盟。這是客套話？或者喬丹真的有大聯盟的潛力？留給球迷無限的想像空間。
