小長頸鹿長太高　遭母棄養險死

美國麻州動物園內的一隻小長頸鹿，因為長得太高，母親以為牠長大了，提早停止餵奶，導致身體虛弱，需要工作人員代為照顧。

索思威克動物園(Southwick Zoo)的長頸鹿黛西(Daisy)，天生就高人一等，剛出生就長到6呎高(約180公分)，重140磅，牠的母親誤以為牠已成年，便不再照顧及提早停止餵奶，很快黛西就缺乏營養，導致體內白血球數量過低。

動物園工作人員要透過管道為黛西餵食，還得替牠穿上特別的外套保暖，並將牠與其他同伴隔離，以免意外受傷。在職員的悉心照料下，黛西目前的情況已大為好轉，4月動物園開放時，訪客將可一睹風采。（於慶中／綜合外電報導）
