一、你使用的是結塊貓砂對嗎？如果貓砂結塊比較小（大概比元宵小就是太小了），貓咪蹲貓沙的時間比較長，那貓咪就有可能得到泌尿道疾病，例如尿路結石(常見於結紮後、比較胖的公貓)或是尿道炎。
二、泌尿道疾病可能會引起尿中有血、雜質，所以尿看起來也會比較深色，但是應該不至於會到黏稠的程度，如果可以的話，設法採一點牠的尿，趕快帶牠去看醫生。
三、去大一點的獸醫院檢查，包括檢查X光或超音波(看牠有沒有結石)、抽血(看牠腎臟有沒有問題)、驗尿(看尿成分有無問題)，泌尿道問題要趕快去看，因為尿毒累積會破壞身體器官。
四、我家的貓有一次吃到不好的飼料，造成尿血，當時醫生教我如何採尿，就是先叫牠喝水，然後把貓廁所的沙子先拿掉，把貓放進空廁所裡叫牠尿
，牠尿了之後，再用空針筒把尿抽起來，放到瓶子裡面帶去給醫生，空針筒、塑膠瓶都可以在藥房買到，很便宜。
