打破「理性」的迷思

「獨立、理性思考」，在過去是拒絕盲從、相信自己可判斷是非的能力展現；可是，在當代台灣，它變成合理化自己說詞、立場或是行動的檢驗標章而已。

我們常宣稱自己的結論，是經過縝密的獨立、理性思考過程而得；但是，忘了我們所認定的理性，往往受自己的價值觀、意識形態所影響。問題是：從來沒有人會承認自己不理性。這恰恰是學者阿多諾與霍克海默《啟蒙辯證法》一書批判的重點。

啟蒙運動以來，相信科學、建立知識、邁向理性，原本是帶領人類逃離、破除神話的工具，如今反過來變成另一個新的神話（唯有科學、知識、理性是對的）。人類又創造了一個「你不信它（科學、知識）、你沒有它（理性），你就是不對的」的迷思。

我們借獨立、理性思考反省，但未反省：為何自己理性，別人沒有。台灣或許需要少假借「理性思考」之名，行汙名他人之實。
