范甘迪：麥葛雷迪 不是合格領袖

34歲的麥葛雷迪 (Tracy McGrady)宣布退休，兩屆聯盟得分王頭銜，天才洋溢的麥葛雷迪究竟是一個怎麼樣的球星，一直飽受爭議，他能不能進入籃球名人堂，也有兩極化意見。

前尼克、火箭教練，目前擔任NBA電視評論員范甘迪 (JeffVan Gundy)表示，「麥葛雷迪是一名優秀的全能球星和得分高手，但他始終不是個領袖。」

曾經在奧蘭多魔術執教麥葛雷迪的快艇教練瑞佛斯 (DocRivers) 認為，麥葛雷迪非常無私、聰明，他可以傳球、得分、幫助隊友，他會是最好的進攻球員，但他確實不是個領袖。

瑞佛斯說，「可惜他必須扮演這個角色，當時他還太年輕，不夠成熟，必須接掌整支球隊和責任。」

「他比攻守數據所呈現出來的還要更出色」瑞佛斯為麥葛雷迪做出更新定義，他表示，「我知道這聽起來很怪，但他就是一名這麼傑出的球員。」
