微軟CEO Ballmer將退休 慶祝行情大漲7%

微軟自有品牌平板電腦「Surface RT」銷售悽慘，第4季財報遠遜預期，備受批評的微軟執行長Steve Ballmer 23日終於宣布將在12個月內退休，交出微軟掌門之職。消息傳出後，台北時間10點04分為止，微軟股價大漲6.90%至34.62美元。

富比士和華爾街日報報導，微軟董事會已成立特別委員會，由微軟前執行長比爾蓋茲親自坐鎮，將從公司內外尋找繼位人選。等選定接替者後，Ballmer就會正式退休。

Ballmer於2000年接任微軟執行長，他因為坐視行動裝置和網路服務崛起，侵蝕個人電腦霸主的影響力，頻頻挨批。近來他迫於壓力力圖轉型，槓上長期合作夥伴推出平板電腦卻惡評如潮，難以逆轉頹勢，只能黯然下臺。

TechCrunch和All Things Digital網站14日報導，Robbins, Geller, Rudman, & Dowd法律事務所代表股東提告，控訴微軟早知Surface RT乏人問津，卻隱瞞不報。訴狀指出微軟進軍平板為災難一場，積累大批價值過度高估的平板庫存，該公司卻以不實誤導的行動，拖延Surface RT的宣判日，一再延後承認跨足平板市場的失敗結果。

Surface RT銷售差，迫使微軟Q4(4-6月)認列9億美元的庫存損失；財報發布後隔日跳空大跌11.40%，300億美元市值一度憑空蒸發。
