全能身手 史密斯擒獲MVP

現年24歲的史密斯，昨在於NFL「超級盃」展現出全能身手。先成功攔截曼寧的傳球，然後回攻69碼達陣，幫助海鷹輕鬆擊敗野馬，奪得隊史第1座總冠軍，史密斯也因此榮膺MVP殊榮。

史密斯畢業於南加州大學，在2011年選秀會以第7輪第242順位加盟海鷹，是一位全能型的線衛球員，也是總教練卡羅爾的防守大將之一。

本季是史密斯職業生涯的第3個球季，本月19日的國聯冠軍戰中，史密斯與謝爾曼聯手擊敗49人隊。此役，史密斯又在第2節剩下3分21秒時完成69碼回攻達陣，整場比賽6次擒抱，4次協助隊友擒抱，是海鷹能夠奪冠的致勝功臣。

除了史密斯個人的精彩演出外，他所指揮的防守組也給對手吃足苦頭，全場出現多達4次失誤。同時也讓培頓曼寧的傳球殺傷力降到最低，34次傳球僅推進280碼，2次被抄截，寫下本季最差的表現。

此外，史密斯是僅次於愛國者隊四分衛布雷迪，拿下超級盃MVP年紀次輕的球員。從過去的歷史紀錄來看，超級盃MVP通常由進攻組球員獲得；史密斯則是自2001年後，以防守組球員榮獲MVP的球員。
