曼德拉追思會不僅擦出外交火花，南非聾啞團體十一日更指控，負責替美國總統歐巴馬（左）致詞翻譯的手語譯員（右）根本是個冒牌貨，此人只會兩手胡亂比劃，「那根本不是手語，他只是胡亂揮舞雙臂」，看來就像「要把蒼蠅從他臉前和頭上揮走」一樣。開普敦手語教育及發展機構主任羅寧表示，南非聾啞人士氣炸了，沒人知道這傢伙是誰。南非聾啞協會發言人隆瓦尼也說，該男「只是亂比一通」，「根本沒在翻譯，正確度是零」。（ 國際新聞中心）
