達拉斯小牛11日簽下3名年輕球員，分別是先前在波士頓塞爾提克不得志的中鋒Fab Melo、克里夫蘭騎士鋒衛D.J. Kennedy，以及6呎後衛Richard McConnell。

Melo身高7呎，2012年在NCAA雪城大學獲得大東區（Big East）「年度最佳防守球員」殊榮，同年NBA選秀會首輪末段被塞爾提克挑中。

Melo上季在塞爾提克只出賽6場，總時數僅36分鐘，不過在發展聯盟（NBDL）表現不錯，入選「年度新秀第一隊」、「年度防守第一隊」。

不過季後Melo被交易到曼菲斯灰熊，隨後遭釋出，小牛相中他的防守功夫，決定將他納入旗下。

另一位Kennedy身高6呎6吋，和Melo一樣，進入職業僅1年時間，已經「流浪」過克里夫蘭騎士、灰熊，上季在騎士只出賽2場。

最後一位McConnell上季在義大利聯賽磨練，出賽32場，平均13.6分，三分球命中率42.2%。
