法務部長涉關說下台 蕭天讚創先例

法務部長曾勇夫並非國內司法史上首位被指涉嫌關說的法務部長；廿四年前，時任法務部長的蕭天讚被指為桃園第一高爾夫球場開發案關說，雖獲不起訴，後來也因輿論壓力，黯然下台。

一九八八年七月廿七日，桃園縣下了一場豪雨，一名學生在蘆竹鄉坑子村掉落暴漲的溪流溺斃；前立委彭紹瑾是當時的桃園地檢處檢察官，在偵辦此案時認為正在施工的第一高爾夫球場未做好水土保持，以致發生意外，且認為有官商勾結，於是分案偵辦第一球場違反山坡地保育利用條例。

一九八九年八月間，在押的教育部體育司官員供出法務部長蕭天讚打電話關說，彭紹瑾於是主動偵辦蕭天讚涉嫌關說案，並呼籲蕭天讚請辭法務部長；當時有不少檢察官挺彭，引起司法界和政界震撼。
