狗和其他動物也該受到同等保護

我有個問題很矛盾，既然提倡不能虐狗吃狗，請問雞、鴨、魚、牛、豬。是不是也不能去吃他們。他們也是人類飼養和狗一樣，那是不是也該有個保護機構去保護這些動物，他們也同樣有生命，那為什麼我們可以去吃上述的動物。
而狗就也嚴格的法令保護，這真的很矛盾，實在太不公平了。
